Well folks, it’s time for the much anticipated fantasy suite (ew) on The Bachelor and it begins tonight with a special two-night um, event. Only four women are left: Andi, Nikki, Clare and Renee. We know that Juan Pablo will likely propose to one of these women, but sources are saying one of these four will also be the next bachelorette. Host Chris Harrison gave his opinion on each of the possibilities, telling E! that any of the women would make for some good TV:
“I’d have trouble really knocking holes in any of them…I mean, they are just different shows, like Renee, single mom, would be definitely a different sweet show as opposed to Clare, which would be a highly emotional show, and probably a sexual, sensual show. Nikki, a pediatric nurse who’s kind of a dichotomy, you know, there’s this sweet side of her but then there’s this tough, kind of hard-as-nails… That’s the great thing about being a producer is you look at the different women, and even like Andi, who’s this strong district attorney who would be cross-examining every guy. It’s just a different type of show no matter which way you go.”
So, to recap, the potential bachelorettes would be: mom, crazy slut, bipolar bitch or judgmental psycho. Cool.
Here’s my take on the four possibilities.
Pros: She’s smart and career-focused, which would make for an interesting new angle. She’s funny in a sarcastic way, and people seem to get along with her easily.
Cons: I guess Chris is right and she could really play up the over-analytical thing.
Pros: It would be insane because she is insane – and that’s entertaining.
Cons: We’d have to hear about how she banged* Juan Pablo and he ditched her over and over again. She’d probably spend all season trying to reclaim her virtue, which is gross on so many levels. Also, the part where she is insane.
Pros: She doesn’t sugarcoat things, which might be a nice change from the overly-sweet “good girls” we get every season. Her honesty is refreshing.
Cons: Everyone thinks she’s a bitch, which might, ya know, make it less enjoyable.
Pros: She’s in her 30s, which would definitely be a nice change from 22-year-olds acting like they’re old spinsters who are going to die alone. She’s down to earth and smart.
Cons: She is perfectly pretty and nice, but there’s nothing that’s stood out to me about Renee. She’s kind of bland. Also, if I have to endure another season about a single parent who is willing to exploit their child to “find love” I think I’m going to barf.
What do you think? Who would make the best Bachelorette?
