You might recognize her as the sassy and sensitive Sophia Burset from Orange Is The New Black or as the first openly transgender person to grace the cover of TIME Magazine – but later this year, you’ll be able to catch Laverne Cox on Bravo’s first ever scripted drama, Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce. The series, which is inspired by Vicki Iovine’s Girlfriends’ Guide book series, follows Abby (Lisa Edelstein), a woman who seems to have it all, only to reveal that her perfect life has been a sham.
According to Bravo TV, Cox will guest star on the series as Adele Northrop, “a Pulitzer Prize-winning war journalist and LGBT activist who presents an award at a marriage equality gala.” Cox is already a well-known advocate for LGBT rights, so that part shouldn’t be too much of a stretch. It’s unclear whether Cox’s role will be recurring or a one-time thing. Personally, I wish she was going to be a regular. Ten episodes a year of Laverne Cox on OITNB isn’t enough for me.
