If you are spoiler-phobic, you should look the other way, because boy have I got a new set of Arrow spoilers for you.  The CW has released the official synopsis for episode one of Arrow season three and it’s guaranteed to make fans freak out. Like I said, if you don’t want any spoilers, turn back now.

I’m sure you all remember Oliver’s supposedly fake declaration of love for Felicity Smoak in the season finale. At the time, it seemed like Oliver only said it because he wanted to trick Slade – but the season three opener, “The Calm,” tells another story:

In the aftermath of this victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

Whoa, wait – what’s that, Olicity shippers? Looks like Oliver might have some romantic feelings toward Felicity after all! Too bad some stupid villain is going to ruin it. Things will probably get complicated for Oliver pretty quickly, especially if the returning villain in question is the new Count Vertigo, played by Fargo‘s uber-creepy Peter Stormare. He will be replacing the previous Count (played by Seth Gabel) as the main man behind the lethal drug Vertigo.

Also – did you catch that Captain Lance? Because I did.

I’m sure we’ll get more season three spoilers for Arrow once Comic Con 2014 begins at the end of the month. Stay tuned!
