For those of you who were less than thrilled with the news that Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn were cast to star in the second season of True Detective, maybe this will cheer you up: Variety reported today that two more vital roles are locked down for the HBO hit. Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch will join the show, playing alongside Farrell as cops working together to solve a high profile murder. According to Variety, Vaughn will play a “crime boss whose empire is threatened when his partner is murdered.” Although HBO hasn’t made an official statement regarding either actor, it seems likely that this is solid casting news.
Are you excited about
Regina George and Tim Riggins McAdams and Kitsch joining the cast? I am trying to keep an open mind. After all, if you’d told me about Matthew McConaughey playing a character like Rust Cohle a year or so ago, I would’ve laughed in your face. Of course, if you’re still disappointed with this casting, you can always check out the hot new spinoff series, Tiny Detectives, starring Kate Mara and Ellen Page.
