Next week, one of my most beloved shows, Parks and Recreation will come to an end. Spoiler alert: I will probably cry. Not shocking news, since I have cried (or at least teared up) at almost every episode this season. Damn those lovable Pawneesians (Pawnneese?). They just get me every time! Luckily, they always find a way to make me laugh through my tears – especially last night.
my dream husband Parks and Rec star Chris Pratt tweeted:
He was referring to “The Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show,” an entire episode of Parks and Recreation that was actually an episode of Andy Dwyer’s fictional television series, “Johnny Karate.” That is pretty meta. And because the show was a show within a show (get it?) viewers also got to see some of the local Pawnee commercials that would air during Johnny Karate. Another spoiler alert: they were hilarious.
You can watch all the commercials below, including my personal favorite, Ron Swanson’s ad for the Very Good Building and Development Company.
Verizon Chipotle Exxon:
Very Good Building and Development Company:
Parks and Rec, I am going to miss you. In the words of Andy Dwyer, you are what I love and without you I wouldn’t be anything. You’re my Verizon-Chipotle-Exxon.
