I Didn’t Watch The Oscars, But These Moments Almost Make Me Wish I Had

As I said yesterday, I didn’t actually watch the Academy Awards last night. And based on what I’ve seen and heard, I don’t think I missed much. My predictions, by the way, were about 50/50. I was wrong about Michael Keaton winning Best Actor, but I was right about it being a white guy. Get it? Cause the entire Oscars are- yeah, you get it. Anyway, I’ve been browsing through the press round-up this morning and these are the four best things I’ve seen from the Oscars. They almost make me wish I had watched the show. Almost.

1. Patricia Arquette giving feminist realness during her acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress.

This made women everywhere – including Meryl Streep and J-Lo –  be like, “YAAASSS! PREACH GURL!”

2.  Lady Gaga reminds us that yes, she can actually sing.

3. John Legend and Common brought the house down with their (now-Oscar-winning) song, “Glory.” 

I mean, it made Chris Pine cry, you guys.

Seriously, if that face doesn’t make you smile on a Monday, nothing will. Even if Richard Linklater was robbed.
