Kelly Osbourne Leaves E! Fashion Police Following Zendaya Dreadlocks Controversy

Fashion Police hasn’t been the same since losing Joan Rivers (#JoanRangerForever!) but things really took a turn for the worst last week, when co-host Giuliana Rancic made some ignorant and xenophobic comments about Zendaya Coleman’s red carpet look. After Rancic stupidly joked that Zendaya’s dreadlocks made her look like she smelled of “patchouli or weed,” many people were pissed – including co-host Kelly Osbourne.

Now E! reports that Kelly will be leaving the show to “pursue other opportunities.” Here is the network’s official statement:

“Kelly Osbourne is departing E!’s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers. Fashion Police will return as scheduled on Monday, March 30, at 9 p.m., and no decisions have been made on her replacement.”

Essentially, it seems like Kelly quit – or at least one can assume so based on her series of angry tweets over the past few days.

She didn’t like Rancic’s comments, nor did she appreciate how Buzzfeed reported that she made the weed comment. The Buzzfeed article has since been corrected, by the way, changing Kelly’s name to “someone.”

Personally, I say good for Kelly. Like her or not, she’s always been outspoken and never backed down from her beliefs. I am confident that, if this is the reason she left Fashion Police, she’ll have more to say about it in the weeks to come.

    • I watched the first epidode, and turned it off after 10 minutes. Kelly’s heart wasn’t in it, and George’s replacemen, Brad, is not funny or clever. Only bitchy. Guiliana seemed loss, without Joan Rivers, and Kathy Griffin cannot fill Joan’s chair. And if the dreadlock remark got a laugh, then only that annoyed Kathy, was she didn’t think of it. Pull the plug on this show. It ended when Joan died.

      • I never watched it after Joan, but I can imagine what you’re describing. Brad Goreski definitely isn’t funny, I remember him from Bravo.
